Stacey focuses her practice with small businesses and their owners, concentrating on Real Estate, Employment, and Business Law.
Stacey represents entrepreneurs, closely held companies, and family businesses, advising clients about business formation, business asset or stock purchase/sale agreements, and business succession. Forming long lasting relationships with clients, Stacey is available to guide small businesses through legal questions that are anticipated when doing business. Stacey works closely with her clients to draft the contracts and negotiate the transactions with the customers, distributors, and suppliers that keep her clients’ businesses growing. Many of these businesses are also real estate owners, sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants, and Stacey provides counseling in various aspects of their real estate transactions, drafting leases and negotiating real estate purchase/sale contracts. Stacey also advises her clients about estate planning. Stacey offers her clients legal advice as well as practical alternatives to their real estate, business or employment problems.
Additionally, a significant portion of Stacey’s practice is focused on advising her business clients on employment related questions that may arise, such as compliance with state and federal discrimination and employment laws, wage and hour laws, and handling employee contracts, policies, leaves of absence, discipline, and terminations, and drafting employee handbooks. In addition, Stacey also represents employee-plaintiffs in the areas of employment discrimination, harassment, and contract law. Stacey advises employees with matters relating to their employment or termination from employment, obtaining improved terms and conditions for her clients. Her representation of both employers and employees brings insight and experience to practically and effectively represent her clients with any of their employment problems.
Stacey maintains close contact with her clients to provide timely and effective advice. With this range of experience and level of service, Stacey has provided valuable advice to contractors, banks, publishers, credit unions, manufacturers, doctors, service providers, restaurants, landlords, real estate management and investment companies, and wide range of other businesses, as well as individual investors, employees, and terminated employees.
Stacey is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in 1992, Cum Laude. She received her Juris Doctor from Capital University in 1996, receiving honors of the Order of the Curia. She was admitted to practice in Ohio in 1996 and is a member of the Akron, Cleveland and Ohio State Bar Associations and has practiced in both the Northern and Southern District, Federal Court of Ohio as well as Summit County Common Pleas and local municipalities. She is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) of Akron. Stacey served on the boards of Hudson Preschool Parents and Hudson Parent Teacher Organization for many years and volunteers in Hudson City Schools and Hudson City ad hoc citizen committee. Stacey is a board member of a neighborhood association. Before joining Goldman & Rosen, Ltd. in 1998, she practiced employment law in Columbus, Ohio.
