Marc has practiced bankruptcy and commercial law since the late 1970s, and has represented both personal and business debtors and creditors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases.
Marc has been a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee since 1978, and in that capacity, has administered thousands of bankruptcy cases. He has served as both a Chapter 11 Trustee and as State Court Receiver. He is licensed to practice before the United States District Court and the United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Ohio and the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Akron Bar Association and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees.
Marc currently is an Adjunct Professor teaching Bankruptcy Law at the University of Akron School of Law. Marc has twice served as Chairman of the Akron Bar Association Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Committee. He is a frequent lecturer on bankruptcy law, having spoken before the Akron and Cleveland Bar Associations, the White-Williams Bankruptcy Institute, the University of Akron College of Law and Cleveland State University. He has also been a contributing writer in the book Chapter 7 Consumer Bankruptcy Strategies.
Marc is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated in Bankruptcy through Martindale-Hubbell for the past 17 years. Marc was selected as an Ohio Super Lawyer for his work in bankruptcy representation.
Marc is the former President of the Shaw Jewish Community Center and Western Reserve Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center, and previously served on the Akron Jewish Community Board and the Board at Kent State Hillel and Jewish Family Service. He presently acts as Chair of the Shaw Jewish Community Center’s Endowment Fund and is a member of the Neurosciences Campaign Committee for The Ohio State University.
